Hold It In
‘Hold It in’ is my Grad film that I was working on or a year. It is a very personal film that explores misogyny and periods through a father daughter dynamic.
Overall it’s a very metaphorical film which is intended to spark conversation between the audience about its meaning to the individual. My film asks questions rather than gives answers.
To this page I have added some concept art, some animation tests and stills from the final film. It’s fascinating to see how films can change so much as you work on them!
I really enjoyed working with oil pastels and charcoal during this project. Originally it was supposed to be a 2D digital and watercolour mixed media project but I quickly realised that making it completely analogue would make the visuals much stronger. I kept the original idea of having watercolour backgrounds but allowed myself to explore other materials for character design.
